Karen is the daughter of the late Eddie Puruntatameri, who was renowned for his pottery, and Maree Puruntatameri, who has made a name for herself as a painter. Karen’s work reflects influences from her Tiwi father’s style and her Arrente (Central Australian) mother’s work. Karen began work at Munupi Arts & Crafts in 1994 and is following on the strong artistic family tradition in both decorative pottery, painting and printing. Karen completed her Certificate II Arts and Crafts with Batchelor College.
