Lulu was born in 1953 and began painting in the late 1980’s. Her landscapes are a mixture of naïve realism and the fine dotting technique characteristic of the Utopian artists. She is Mother to established artist Selina Teece Pwerl who took up painting inspired by watching her Mother paint as a youngster, ensuring the familial line stories continue to be painted.
Lulu is from the remote community of Ampilatwatja (pronounce Um-blud-a-witch) in the eastern central desert approximatly 350km north east of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory.
