Lynette Brown

Lynette Brown (b.1966)
Lynette was born at Malara, west of Kanpi Community on the APY Lands of South Australia, while her parents were travelling by donkey and camel from Amata towards Mount Davis. Lynette is the daughter of well known
artist Anmanari Brown, a founding member of Irrunytju Arts and Traditional Owner for Kuru Ala (Eyes wide open), a favourite homeland for many people in the community and an important cultural place for women’s business. Lynette’ s paintings focus on the Kungkarrakalpa tjukurpa (Seven Sisters creation story) passed down by her mother and grandmother.
