Artitja Fine Art Gallery is dedicated to ethical and transparent representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.

Our Commitments

  • We work directly with more than 20 Aboriginal-owned community art centres across remote Australia.
  • We are long-standing signatories to the Indigenous Art Code, and uphold its standards of fairness and ethical practice.
  • All artworks are sourced through established and trusted relationships built over more than 20 years.

Certificates of Authenticity

Each artwork is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, which may include:

  • Artist name and community
  • Title of the work
  • Story (where appropriate and permitted)
  • Dimensions, medium and catalogue number
  • Artist or art centre signature/stamp

Provenance

Provenance for each artwork is traceable to its community art centre or the artist.

We maintain detailed records ensuring the integrity and cultural respect of each work.

Cultural Respect

We acknowledge that many artworks share cultural stories, ancestral knowledge and traditional narratives. We work closely with art centres to ensure artworks and stories are represented respectfully and accurately, in keeping with cultural protocols
