Born in 1962 in Coober Pedy, Joyce was inspired to become an artist by watching her father paint when she was a child.
She grew up in Ernabella and Fregon with her mother Tinpulya and spent some time in Watarru, the country of her grandmother.
Joyce paints the rockholes and animal tracks from this country. Over the last few years her style has evolved from using a brush to a strong dot technique, painting with a punu (a wooden stick).
You’ll find Joyce hard at work most days at Kaltjiti Arts. She is a valuable director and advisor to our new and emerging artists. She is very encouraging
of our new tjanpi artists, which is very exciting.
She lives in Fregon with her children and grandchildren.
